Background information

My name is Lorenza Della Donna, and I invite my students to call me Dr. Della Donna or Dr. DD 😉. I’m thrilled to begin another year of teaching and learning together. Teaching science is not only my profession but also my passion, and I feel incredibly fortunate to share it with my students every day.

I am originally from Italy, and my love for science brought me to Los Angeles. After earning my PhD in Basic Science and Biotechnology at the University of Turin, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA researching cancer stem cells. During that time, my passion for teaching blossomed, and I decided to pursue it fully. I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Teaching at USC (and no, I still won’t pick sides between the Bruins and the Trojans! 😄). This year marks my thirteenth year teaching biology, and my eight at CCHS - and I couldn’t be more excited.

Outside of the classroom, I’m a mom of three (including twins!), which means life is always full of energy and surprises. They are my greatest joy, even if they sometimes drive me a little crazy - because, well, that’s kids!

In my free time, I enjoy swimming, running, staying active with fitness, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

  • Login with your email used in Aeries
  • Username: your email used in Aeries
  • Password:Your child’s Student ID #
  • This will take your to your Canvas Dashboard.

2) Canvas Parent  App (iTunes): Download Here

You will need to create an account and then link to your child's Canvas classes through their CCUSD Gmail and Password (This account that you create is different from the one that was created for you on the Canvas Website)
