Hello! My name is Lorenza! My husband and I are from Italy. We have a son who just started kindergarten, and twins who are still in preschool -- I know! My husband thought the doctor was joking after the first ultrasound. They are the absolute joy of my life... when they are not throwing their carrots at the wall.
I completed my Ph.D. at UCLA where I also did my postdoc and worked as a postdoctoral fellow on stem cell research for cancer -- I love science! It was during this time I realized I wanted to share this love with others, which led me to teaching. What a fulfilling fit! -- I guess I found my life passion (no biggie, right?).
I have been teaching biology for 7 years, and this will be my second year at Culver City High School. This year, I am thrilled to be taking on AP bio as well. Aside from family and teaching, I love swimming, reading, and hanging out with friends. My weakness is definitely my sweet tooth, so please have mercy on me and don’t give me candy -- especially Werther’s.
I truly look forward to working more closely with our awesome community of faculty, parents and students. Here’s to a great school year!
