COVID Protocols: 2021 Summer Athletics

We are excited that athletics will be continuing over the summer. We are aware that state and county guidelines have changed. However, schools and youth sports are still required to follow stricter guidance. If and when schools and youth sports county guidance is updated, you will be notified and relevant protocols will be issued. Below are the protocols for CCHS Summer Athletics:

Mask Wearing:

  • Regardless of vaccination status, while on campus, masks must be worn indoors at all times by all coaches and students
    • When actively participating in indoor sports (practice, games), masks may be removed.
  • Regardless of vaccination status, masks do not have to be worn outside and during outdoor sports.

Screening Procedures:

  • Coaches are required to maintain an accurate daily attendance sheet.
    • This is very important. In the event, we do have a sick athlete, the District Nurse can perform contact tracing.
    • REQUIRED to report illness and exposure to COVID positive people to Site Administrator and districtnurse@ccusd.org
    • Athletes will still be required to self screen at home using the Campus Screen App and will need to show a “green screen” before participating in the practice for the day.
    • Maintaining appropriate social distancing when at all possible is still expected
  • On-campus(at the point of entry) temperature checks are no longer required.

Hygiene:

  • Coaches should still be using the items in their Athletic Sanitation Kits
  • Good hand hygiene is still HIGHLY recommended

COVID Testing & Vaccine:

  • COVID testing is recommended but not required
  • COVID vaccines are not required but highly recommended
    • If you have been fully vaccinated and would like to share your card, please send it to Tonya McLinn tonyamclinn@ccusd.org
