Here is the final schedule for Geometry
The final will be given in 4 parts
5/3/18 Part 1: Topic: CC1 and CC2
5/10/18 Part 2: Topic: CC3
5/31/18 Part 3: Topic: CC4 and CC5
6/5/18 Part 4: Topic: CC6
Retest on 6/14/18 provided students show a body of work (to be defined at a later date)
Due:
Assignment
At this point you have finished all the parts of the geometry final.
You are allowed to retest and as stated in class (on the whiteboard and told to you at the beginning of each class period) you need to complete a defense packet before you can retest a particular CC. I have posted the directions here because some of you didn't listen in class to my instructions and explanation about this process.
FIRST AND FOREMOST the packets are DUE on this FRIDAY the 8th of June. You have had over two weeks to work on the first two and should have plenty of time to finish.
For each CC you want to retest you need to create a defense packet. If you want to retest two CC's you will need to create two packets.
More specifically you need to produce the following for each packet.
1. Geometry Cover Sheet outlining what CC your defense pack
2. Corrections for each problem you go wrong on the final on a separate piece of paper. If you lost your final you will need to get a new one and redo all the problems. See me in class for one.
3. Model Card of a DOK 2 or DOK 3 problem. Details of how to do a model card problem are on the cover sheet.
4. Additional 4-5 problems that I will provide for you.
If the packet is incomplete or you don't turn it in on Friday you give up your ability to take the retest.
For the retest the higher score is kept.
Due:
Okay after 4 days of review and the CC 6 Mastery Checks we have a lot of misconceptions that if cleared up will drastically change your scores and eventually grades.
I took a picture of what we did in class and hopefully this will clear up some of the terms and how to do volume and surface area problems.
Also posted here is more practice on volumes and surface area that you already got in class.
Due:
Assignment
Okay those of you guys who work hard today good job! Remember to check your answers to make sure you are getting the correct answers.
Posted here is the answers to the composite area for the CC6 test that were given to you in class. This is just a warm up to help find surface area of 3D solids.
In case you need more help with the circles and angles....
Also posted is a schedule of the topics we are covering and when the final tests are so make sure you start to prepare for your finals. Use the homework website for notes and practice problems. To get back to first semester just change the year.
Start to prepare now as it will seem very fast once we get into it!
Here are some of the videos that could help with Circle concepts we covered in class

Be ready for next thursday for CC1 and CC2 Finals test.
Here is the study guide with answers. In class I gave you a blank copy and key for the last CC1/CC2 test you took. Use that with your actual test to help you study this week.
Remember that you can pass this class if you do well on the final so develop a good plan, don't shy away from hard work! You can do it!

In class today it was very hard for me to teach and review for tomorrows test. Mostly it was because of your behavior in class. So tomorrow we will be going over new rules and consequences for our classroom. It is posted here for parents and for you to read
The review solutions we went over in class are here as well.

Your test for CC5 is on Thursday!
We started to review last Friday and continued to review for the rest of this week. Today we covered coordinate proofs so here is the full key. Remember part of the credit comes from explaining what you calculations mean!
Due:
We are into Day 3 of our CC 5 Review. Today we reviewed Quadrilateral proofs and a little more coordinate proofs. Both worksheets are here for you to study with.
1. Coordinate Proofs Part 2: We can see if that if we are given 3 points without any direction of how to connect them we can make 3 different parallelograms and maybe a rhombus, rectangle, or square if additional conditions are met.
2. Geometric Quad Proofs: Two column proofs that involve triangle congruence proofs with definition and properties of various special quadrilaterals.
3. Also posted are the summaries of skills you will need for the proofs that we wrote up on the white board.
Due:
Assignment
Here is the last day of CC5 Test review: Algebra mixed with Special Quadrilateral properties. The idea here is that you won't know how to setup various algebraic equations unless you know the geometric relationship.
Due:
Assignment
This coming Thursday is your CC5 Mastery Check on Quadrilaterals.
Today we reviewed how to find various angles and properties of the special quadrilaterals. Answers are found here.
Due:
Assignment
Tomorrow is your test on CC3 Here is the summary page. I will post answers to the practice later.

Tests upcoming
- 3/15/18 Thursday CC3 Test everybody takes it
- 3/22/18 Thursday CC5 Test
Today we finished our last shape which was the kite.
Posted here are the notes and homework and solutions.
Due:
Assignment
Hi class, today we covered the basics of trapezoids so posted here are the notes for this class and the homework.
The homework is pretty easy as the first section is just to restate the notes and the next couple of problems are equations that relate to midsegment. After we do kites (out last shape) we will do more higher level problems so you know what to expect on a test.
Due:
Assignment
Next Thursday you will have a CC3 Retest that everyone takes. Topics include right triangle trigonometry, law of sines, and law of cosines

Hi Geometry Class
So today we had a matching game and additional practice on how to do 2 column proofs with triangle congruence and CPCTC. Remember your test for CC4 will be on Thursday of next week (FEB 22nd) so start reviewing!
On this homework post is the following:
1.) The CC4 study guide (look here if you want to see how we filled in the examples on the study guide.
2.) ASA congruence 2 column proof problems
3.) Triangle Congruence and CPCTC 2 column proofs.
Here are some youtube videos if you need some help.
Due:
Assignment
As we practice our 2 column congruence proofs we had a practice booklet that I printed and put together from you. Here are the solutions to all the proofs. Remember our test is this thursday. Look at the other posted homework to learn how to do proofs in case you need another example in addition to what we did in class.
Here are some youtube videos if you need some help.
Due:
Assignment
Be ready for tomorrow's CC1 and CC2 Review Mastery Check.
As you asked for a study I made you one and gave it to you in class. If you missed it I posted a blank copy and the key if you want to check your answers. Good luck and study hard!
As for CC4 I am currently working on a study guide for CC4 and a review one for CC3 since we definitely will be retesting that one =)
Due:
Assignment
Today we went over the test and found out that we need to approach solving these triangles a little better. So here is a summary of what was on the board in case you need a little more explanation or if you weren't in class.
Due:
Assignment
Tomorrow is your test for right triangles. The answer were given in class. If you got slightly different answers but did the correct work then you are good don't worry. The test has been checked so all the answers are good and you shouldn't get different answers if you do what you should do.
Due:
Assignment
Updated 1/19/18
1. Added the examples of how to use the law of cosines and also tried to show where common mistakes might happen in the Algebraic steps.
