Yesterday we finished our general notes on standard form.  Here are the notes and solutions on how to find the x-intercepts and y-intercepts of a parabola in standard form.

 

Remember our Test for CC 3 will be the 5th of December!

Today we took our first look at the standard form of a parabola and focused on how to find the concavity, axis of symmetry and using the axis to find the vertex.

The Defense packet is due by Tuesday Nov 5th.  The packet and answers are posted so you can check your work.  What you will need to show me is the work that leads to the answer.  Students with incomplete defense packets who didn't show work that leads to the answer will not be allowed to take the retake.

This was our introduction to piecewise function.  In the next few days we will go over aspects of the piecewise function so make sure you keep up and practice otherwise it might seem overwhelming.

Today we went around the classroom and reviewed the concepts that will be on the quick check tomorrow.  Here is the whole set of problems in order.  

On Thursday and Friday we practiced putting all the non-rigid and rigid transformations together (except for horizontal compression/stretch)

9/27/19 Today we gave back your first CC 1 Mastery Check

The retest is next Friday Oct 4th and the defense is due Oct 3rd.

9/25/19 Today we started our next concept category which involves functions and parent functions.  So essentially we just graphed the parents functions using a table.  In the upcoming days we will transform them to see what things we can model.  

Wednesday and Thursday we went over inverse functions and looked at what they are, how to find them, and how to prove whether or not two functions are inverses of each other.  Here are the notes and practice problems.

In class while I was away we got to practice function operations and function composition.  Here are the keys for those worksheets.  Remember to go back to previous posting to find the youtube videos that can reexplain the topic if you need it.  You test for CC1 will be next Tuesday.

 

 

Today we looked at function operations, which is essentially how we add, subtract, multiply and divide functions into each other.  

 

Attached here is the notes.  Make sure you go over all the problems and check your answers with the completed notes posted here.
