Hi guys begin to organize yourself to see what you need to work on.  Don't just "know" generally how to do a problem, make sure you got the correct answer and understand the underlying principles.  I have attached here a summary of the learning targets and concept categories we have covered so far.  Good luck!

1.  Calc AB learning targets
2.  Implicit Practice Multiple Choice with Key
3.  Log Differentiation Problem set in case you "lost" it. =D

For tomorrow's retest please make sure to provide a body of work to show that you are ready to retest.  The problems will be a  little more challenging so please take that into consideration.  There will be non-routine problems for you to try but again you will need to bring in a body of work to show that you prepared for the retest.

Body of work includes items such as a concept map, past homework problems (if you already done them maybe add annotation to show your thinking.)  Redoing of the test questions with the thought process worked out.

Attached are solutions to the last round of retests.

Due:

Assignment

For those of you who need to look at the notes for the power rule,
Please pay close attention to when you should use the power or not.  Usually for the problems you can't you can either use algebra to simplify and then use the power rule or you will have to use another rule in combination with it.

Unit 2 Assessment on Monday 17th

Due:

Assignment

Here is the summary of the outline that all the periods contributed to and that I typed up for you.  Remember don't spend too long studying displacement and total distance.

Due:

Assignment

Two things minimum to do.

1.  Look over the test to make sure you make the correct additions to your notes that you study off of and that you understand the concept not just the "motions" of just how to solve this one particular problem.  I have attached revised answers to the quick

2.  Work on that motion worksheet that was given to you in class if you don't have it look at an old homework posting to find it and the answers.  Tomorrow I will give you the second one.

Due:

Assignment

Worksheet and Solutions to the Motion Practice worksheet given to you in class.  You will get the next one tomorrow.

Due:

Assignment

Here is the outline for the defense I told you about that you can add to your quick check to redo a past concept category.

To Level up to a POSSIBLE 78 in any category of your choice: Defend your knowledge of the category by

  • writing out the definition,
  • providing a visual to clarify the definition,
  • designing and solving the most rigorous problem you can and explain how to think through your approach, plan, and execution
  • explain the purpose of the concept

Answers to the non routine problem given to you in class

C = m/seconds^2 B = m/seconds^3
Velocity = 0 at t = 0 Min and t = 1 Max
Look at direction change. From x(0) = 0, x(1) = 1, x(4) = -80 Total distance traveled is 82 meters
Displacement = x(4) =- x(0) = 80 meters
V(1) = 0 V(2) = -12 V(3) = -36 V(4) = -72
A(1) = -6 A(2) = -18 A(3) = -30 A(4) = -42

There is a quick check on LT 2D, 2G and LT 2E, 2F, 2H on Monday the 10th and your Unit 2 Assessment is the following monday the 17th.  Start to prepare for it.

Here are the notes on curve sketching.  Sorry it was posted so late.

As a reminder if you want to retest CC1 you can do so after school on Friday in my classroom.  (Peer tutoring is going on there)  Please make sure you have a detailed concept map and a body of work showing that you prepared for this.  If the concept is not detailed or the body of work weak you will have to wait to retest.

Due:

Assignment

On Friday Nov 7th after school during peer tutoring, you have another opportunity to redefined Unit 1 CC1 for a better grade.  Must bring a detailed Concept Map (links/connections need to be labeled) as well as a body of work (such a all the practice problems you did at home) to show that you are ready to test.

Due:

Assignment

Here are the following things that I posted here that you can use to help you learn these next few concepts relating to position, velocity, and acceleration.

1.  Notes
2.  Velocity, Speed, Acceleration Worksheet.
3.  Homework Problems from our textbook.
Pg. 129-133 #1,3,5,9,12,13,16,17

Continue to work through Recall, Routine, and possibly Non-Routine Problems for 2D and 2G learning targets.  Make sure you are adding to your concept map.  We are going to have a quick check this Wednesday.

Due:

Assignment

Okay so now that you have taken the second test continue to work through 2C and 2D learning targets and add to your concept map.  I have also added a few pictures of what you guys came up with to graph f(x) to f'(x) and vice versa.  On monday we are going to look at the test and answers and tuesday continue to move forward.

Due:

Assignment

Here are the goal problems for LT 2B we did in class.

Due:

Assignment

For Wednesday and Thursday we will be working on corrections and concept maps as we look at our results from the unit 1 test.  So if you haven't made a concept map yet now is the time to do it!  =D

Please print this Unit 2 Homework sheet out for yourself to work on by Friday or next Monday at the latest.  I put this packet together so you didn't have to look through the chapter pdfs that I posted.  If you can't print it out for whatever reason just let me know and I will be happy to make a copy for you.

Due:

Assignment

Hi Guys so your unit 1 test is tomorrow.  Focus on everything we did in the past and it will have very little Trig limits since we just learned them.

Good luck and here are the solutions and questions from today.  Don't spend too much time with this stuff and focus on past quick checks.

Due:

Assignment

Okay so continue to work through limits at infinity and infinite limits and start to put a concept map together.  We are probably going to have our unit one test next week.  For those absent today I have posted here what we did in class along with answers.

Please bring any questions you have to me tomorrow.

Due:

Assignment

Remember this Friday you have your next quick check
1.  Here is the solutions to the goal problems if you needed more time with it to make notes.

2.  Model Card for graphing limits Ch 1.7 page 71 #45.  It is a detailed model of how to graph

Due:

Assignment

Quick check tomorrow on finding limits 4 ways (Table, Calculator, Graph is given, Algebra)

Due:

Assignment

Need to work on the limits.  What problems you do in class and at home on the Learning Targets page I gave you depends on how well you did on the goal problems.

Due:

Assignment

Please look at the following concept map and decide whether to create your own concept map, copy mine, or rewrite them in a traditional format.  If you have questions put it on a post it and give it to me tomorrow
