English 10 (Period 4) Assignments

I have attached the assignment sheet for the PowerPoint.  We will work on it Monday and Tuesday in the lab.  You will present it on the day of your final.

Here is a copy of the research assignment.  You will have the opportunity to research with your group for the next two days in room 50.  All other research must be completed at home.  Review your notes on primary and secondary sources to help you choose the best web sources.   You may use the attchached organizer to help you collect your data.

Complete your outline BEFORE coming to class!  You need approval prior to beginning your report.

Read chapters 4 & 5 of Catcher and complete the Character Analysis Handout with additional examples from these chapters.  You should have two examples for each topic by Friday.

Tomorrow is the last day to work on your posters.  Prepare tonight by finding your quote, writing your slogan, and printing out any pictures you wish to incorporate in your visual.

 

 

Holden’s Ad for Pencey Prep

 

Write a mock ad for Pencey Prep, complete with a picture of the school, as you imagine it from Holden’s description.

Your advertisement must include:

«  A visual representation of the school

«  The name of the school

«  A slogan written in Holden’s style of speaking

«  A quote

The best ads will truly capture Holden’s perspective.

We begin presenting our independent reading projects on Wednesday.
