AP US History (Period 1) Assignments

I have attached 2 documents (A. Lincoln's First Inaugural Address and B. Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address) for the Unit V Document Log. Please note: there will be more than just these two!

Please prepare for the Ch. 14 Quiz with the attached Study Guide.

I have moved the Ch. 13 quiz back a day to Wednesday, October 30th. Please use the attached study guide to prepare.

There are only two documents for Unit IV Doc Log. Please thoroughly define and give context to these documents and then give the historical significance of both. This is due Monday, October 28th.

Please read ,"Self-Reliance", by Ralph Waldo Emerson (attached below). Working alone or in a group, please devise a "social experiment" in which you challenge societal norms. I've attached the handout of instructions below as well. This is worth 50 points! Please take this seriously, but HAVE FUN, and DON'T DO ANYTHING THAT WOULD JEOPARDIZE UNIVERSITY ACCEPTANCE AND/OR FUTURE CAREER ASPIRATIONS! If you're unsure of certain ideas, run them by me first, please!

Attached is the Ch. 12 Study Guide. Please use this to prepare for the quiz on Tuesday, October 22nd.

*Period 1 students: please come 10 minutes early so you have the proper amount of time to complete the essay. Period 6 students will stay after school.

Print out the attached copy of the U.S. Constitution and Constitution break-down questions. You were assigned a number in class--> answer the corresponding question by reading the U.S. Constitution. Bring your copy of the Constitution, all questions, and your answer to your question on Wednesday.

Use the attached Ch. 4 Study Guide to prepare for the Ch. 4 Quiz. I will also be adding links to help review...

Please use the following documents for your Unit I Doc Log. Title your work "Unit I Doc Log". Specify which document you're analyzing (EX: Doc A- Christopher Columbus, Excerpt from his Journal about Arawak Indians"), give the definition/ brief description of document (What is the document saying?), lastly give the historical significance (how does this tie into the bigger picture and/or themes of history that we're studying?). Please make sure you denote the definition vs. the historical significance for each.

Please utilize your Summer Session work as well as the Ch. 3 Study Guide to study for the 80 multiple choice question Unit I test (Ch. 1-3) on Tuesday, September 3.

Please download, print out, and read the attached APUSH syllabus with your parent(s) and/or guardian(s). The last page should be filled out and detached to return to me by Wednesday, August 28th.

There will be a multiple choice 50-question test covering material from the Summer Reading Assignment (ch. 1 & 2) on Wednesday, August 28th. Please study YOUR copy of the Summer Reading Assignment to prepare.
