A.P. Studio Art (Period 6)

Course Description

ADVANCED PLACEMENT STUDIO ART
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Please Note:  All Assignments/Homework are located on Aeries.
Advanced Placement Studio Art is designed for a specific course of study that readily parallels specialized drawing curriculums and programs in college and university art departments, as well as art schools. You may receive college credit in this course by submitting a portfolio to the College Board and earning a passing score of 3, 4, or 5. Make sure to consult the university for their guidelines of acceptance.
Upon Completion of the course, the student will be able to use drawing and painting to express feelings, ideas, and observations of a personal nature. Appropriate drawing skills such as being able to draw a representational image of a person or object in its situation of space and light in the three-dimensional world is an appropriate skill for the student artist to develop. Being able to draw from an “abstract” point of view or feeling, to express the “real” world abstractly is an equally valuable ability.
