IMPORTANT! Regarding the Final:

Per1:  Wednesday Jun10th         Interviews are between 8:05 to 10:05am

Per2:  Wednesday Jun10th         Interviews are between 10:35am to 12:35pm

Per3:  Thursday Jun11th              Interviews are between 8:05 to 10:05am

To reserve your interview spot for the final, please fill the Google survey I posted earlier. The survey was due Jun7th, 2020 evening.  Thank you for filling the survey and reserving your spot prior to the deadline. I will make arrangement according to your survey results and email you the time/info of our Zoom conference by Tuesday Jun9th.

Understand that reschedule/extension will not be guaranteed. Reattempt is not possible due to number of interviews. So be well prepared.

For the one-on-one Zoom conference final exam, you will be given problems randomly chosen. You will be required to solve them accurately as well as to verbally articulate your understanding of the concepts using academic vocabulary.

If your MC grade is a B and you wish to earn an A, you will be given upper-level Routine problems and Non-Routine problems.

If your MC grade is a C and you wish to earn a B, then you will be given upper-level Routine problems.

You are required to show mastery to earn a higher assessment grade. The final is optional but it is not extra credit. Taking the final does not mean an automatic boost for your grade.

There is a time limit to the interview (10 to 15min).  If you are unable to solve the problems within the specified time frame, you will not get the credits.  There is no extension for this exam.

In order to serve all the requests fairly within a limited time, you need to follow the rule precisely:

  • You need to make sure all the necessary technology: stable wifi, webcam & audio on your computer, mouse, CCUSD official account access.
  • Do not be late.  Again, reschedule/extension will not be guaranteed. Reattempt is not possible, just like regular school year.
  • Upon arriving and during the entire session, you need to make sure your computer webcam & audio on and show your surrounding especially top of the desk. No unauthorized electronic devices allowed. Blank scratch paper and calculator are allowed.
  • Verify no other internet browsers open by sharing your desktop screen.
  • You can use Zoom whiteboard, annotation, or Paint/Photoshop etc. (for Windows) or Mac software that serves similar purpose  for written responses. Have the software application ready.

Due:

Final and End of Year Survey: Must respond prior to Sunday Jun7th 7pm.

Assignment

Hello parents and students,

Thank you for your patience and flexibility in this unprecedented time of school dismissal. Culver City High School and the Math Department are dedicated to making sure that during this time of great uncertainty that students are able to continue with their learning remotely with the least amount of disruption to their education as possible.

I will be posting lessons, assignments, and helpful links on this webpage so that students are able to continue to receive lessons, practice assignments, etc., as we progress through this school dismissal. Please check the site frequently on school days, as I will be posting assignments periodically throughout the weeks. My “office hours” will be during Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm, it will be during these office hours that I will be able to communicate with students through email most efficiently and quickly. However, please feel free to email me at any time with clarifications about the lessons, questions on the homework, etc., and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can.

The assessments planned for this week will be postponed until after Spring Break. If the school dismissal continues on after Spring Break, then assessments may have to be administered and students will be responsible for completing the assigned assessments. If that is the case, please check the website regularly for more info about how the exams will be administered."
