Background information

Hello! My name is Lorenza. This is my first year teaching at Culver City High School and I will be teaching biology.

I love science! I am originally from Italy but my passion for science brought me to the United States where I completed my PhD (at UCLA) and worked as a postdoctoral fellow (still at UCLA) on cancer stem cells for a few years. It was mostly during this exciting time that I realized how the best aspect of doing science for me was related to teaching, interacting with students and passing to others my passion and excitement for this subject. Teaching is my second career and I genuinely love it. I earned my master in teaching at USC and I have been teaching high school students for five years.

I have three young children: the youngest are 21 month old twin girls. I dedicate all my spare time to them and my husband. I enjoy reading, swimming, and hanging out with friends.

I am very excited to be part of this community and looking forward to meeting my new students!
