The CCHS English Language Arts department includes 14 teachers:

 

  • Three Ed/PhDs; Ten Masters
  • 149 collective years of teaching, 3 with 20+ years of experience, 5 with 10+ years, averaging 13 ½ years per teacher.
  • Special certifications, designations and trainings include: multiple College Board and AP trainings; Grading for Equity; Masters thesis on detracking; National Board Certified Teacher; Committee on Accreditation for the CA Committee on Teacher Credentialing; Reading specialist certifications; National Association of Bilingual Education
  • The department collaborates with each other to maintain consistency through the use of common language (e.g. Schaffer model of writing) and vertical alignment, from College Prep English 9 through AP Literature.
