Description
This course is an overview of the four branches of Earth Science:  astronomy, geology, oceanography and meteorology. It is a physical science and meets on of the science courses required to earn a CCHS diploma. It also counts as an academic elective required by the CA State and UC University systems.

Here is your study guide for the Earth Science Fall final.  The copy you received in class is double-sided.  You may bring ONE side of a single-sided copy to the final with you, WITH NOTES you have hand-written on both sides.  No exceptions.  If you do this and you turn in your used study guide, you will earn TWO POINTS extra credit on your final exam.
 
Bring something to read or quietly do on your own after you turn in the exam and receive TWO MORE EXTRA CREDIT POINTS on your final exam.

Here is the video we are using rather than written notes for Solar and Lunar Eclipses.
 
 
Remember - Solar eclipses happen when the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun, causing the Sun to look like it's disappeared behind the Moon.  The Moon is in the new moon lunar phase.  
 
Lunar eclipses happen when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon, causing a shadow to fall across the Moon.  The Moon is in the full moon lunar phase.

QUIZ #4:  Galaxies
 
You will need to know all four types of galaxies; how to draw a simple example of each kind; a description of their shape, size, contents, relative age and percentage of galaxies of this kind in the universe.  Your quiz will be a table to fill out with this data.  There are clues for each type of galaxy on the table already.

  • If you must wait to purchase the notebook over the weekend please let me know, and I can provide you a packet for the front pages in class.  
  • If you lose the pages, the attached files will supply you with the pages and but not the color...the proper order is below.
