A lifetime SC football fan, I graduated from USC. When my boys were young, I took literature and writing classes and had little success in getting published. After years in the business world, I returned to school (California State University, Northridge) to earn my single subject credential in English. I later completed my masters in American Studies at Pepperdine. I love to learn!
My obsessions include rowing, hiking, biking, reading, traveling, and of course the sunshines in my life: my sons, my daughters-in-law, my "daughter" and my dog (picture shown). My older son graduated from Southern Methodist University and is now back in school at SMC taking prerequisites to pursue a career in Civil Engineering. My younger son graduated from James Madison University and is now an ER physician's assistant in Roanoke, Virginia. They both married lovely women. Two years ago, I became the legal guardian of my daughter-in-law's little sister, so I am now raising a fourteen year old girl, who is a sweetheart. She attends CCMS, so I get to be a parent once again. I am really very proud of all of them.
This year, I am teaching English 12 with a focus on the students attending university. I am so thankful that I found my niche and that I am in a career that I love.
Life is good.
