I am originally from Bakersfield, CA, where I was born and raised. I attended California State University Bakersfield, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a minor in American Literature, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Secondary English.
I was fortunate enough to teach for five years at a continuation high school in Bakersfield, before making the move to LA. I taught for one year at Fremont High School in LAUSD, and luckily, I find myself as the English 9/AVID 9+10 teacher/AVID Coordinator at Culver City High School for the fifth year.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband, Aaron, and son, Max. We love sports and root for the Dodgers, Clippers, and we are a New York Giants/Steelers household. I also enjoy going to the movies and attending sporting events, and watching cooking shows to hone my skills in the kitchen.
I feel very lucky to have found a home at Culver City High School, and I can't wait to meet you all. Let's have a great school year!
