VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Culver City High School is pleased to honor the work and contributions of Mr. Larry Zeidman by naming him our 2014-15 Volunteer of the Year.  Larry has served as the Booster Club Casino Night chairperson for the past 4 years. During his tenure, his dedicated service has helped to raise over $150,000 for our students, our athletic teams, and our facilities. The Booster club is the high school’s parent group dedicated to raising funds in support of CCHs programs-particularly our athletic programs. Larry is the driving force behind the success of the Club’s largest fundraiser, Casino Night. Additionally, Larry served as a Booster club member for 6 years, and worked for Grad Night for 4 years.

Larry is a graduate of CCHS (Class of ‘77) and lettered in tennis and track in multiple years. He is the proud father of Rachel, who graduated from CCHS in 2012, and Laura who will be a Class of 2015 graduate.   We greatly appreciate Mr. Zeidman commitment to our students, coaches, teachers, and administrators at CCHS. We are grateful for his generous contribution to our community.  CCHS looks forward to another year of his service as we salute Mr. Larry Zeidman.

Lloyd Dixon is the current Booster Club President. The Booster Club works hard to raise funds and provide financial support to all of our programs, and most notably athletics. The annual Casino Night event is one of our largest fundraisers, and we appreciate all the time, energy, money, and sweat that goes into the endeavor. Thank you, Lloyd and the CCHS Booster Club!

“Amber Masek is the Program Advisor for the CCHS and CCMS Spirit Program. For the past 5 years she has been the consistent advocate for the program and our athletes. As program advisor she manages accounting of funds, organizes fundraisers, and coordinates all team events such as the popular CCHS Youth Cheerleading Camps. Between practices, games, team events and fundraisers, Amber volunteers more than 20 hours a week serving not only our high school cheerleaders and dance team, but she also manages the middle school. Thank you, Amber, for all your work with Culver City students.” – Cheer Coach, Lindsey Farris

Nancy Burne (left), pictured here with Cheer Coach Lindsey Farris (right), is our hardest working parent volunteer. Nancy is a committed member of PTSA, the Booster Club, and devoted team mom. You might find her volunteering in the front office on any given day, too. Nancy has taken on parent communication, sending out regular / daily e-mails to all PTSA members about school, and she runs one of the popular Culver City parent Yahoo groups. She was named the Volunteer of the Year for 2012-2013!
