Updates Week of April 20-24

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:

To better address students’ needs as it pertains to online/distant learning as well as some parent concerns I have received, I am restructuring my practices.

As of today, April 20, 2020, the following changes are taking place.

  1. I am moving all notes, instructions, assignments and announcements to CANVAS.

Students you can find your CANVAS here:

Parents you also can login to CANVAS to keep up with my assignments here:

Both logins are on the right side of the page.

  1. Zoom sessions will only take place once a week and are now on a set/repeat schedule so that students may plan ahead. Zoom session schedules are posted in the “Announcement” section for each class. Note: Zoom sessions are only IF you need assistance with the assignments.
  2. I will post assignments for the week with instructions on Monday as early as possible so that students may plan their week out.
  3. Remember attendance is taken weekly. In order to earn your attendance you must either complete your assignment for the week, or meet me on Zoom to work on the assignment and then turn it in.

Week of April 13 Algebra 1 Update (as of 4/14/20 5:34pm)

In response to the Online Learning Check-in Survey that students took for my class, I will not follow up with a second assignment this week.  And as stated in the previous post there will be no Zoom session this week, but I will be available by e-mail for assistance.

Week of April 13-Algebra 1 students Please read

Periods 1 and 5-There will not be a zoom session this week.  You have one assignment from yesterday that is on Google Form.  I will use your responses to this assignment towards your attendance.  Your assignment on Thursday will most likely be a PDF file sent to your e-mails.  I will be available on Friday during the assigned virtual bell schedule for assistance by e-mail.

Week of April 13-Geometry students please read

For this week there is NO Zoom sessions for Geometry (Periods 2 and 6).  The assignments required are review and will not require a live session.  However, I am available during the virtual bell schedule time by e-mail for assistance and support.

YouTube Channel and general updates

Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel.  Periodically I plan to upload instructional videos.  When new videos are posted, I send the direct links to student e-mails.
On another note...I am sending Zoom notifications and assignments through student e-mail accounts.  Make sure you are checking your "" account for weekly information from me.  Thank you.

Welcome Back and Instructions for Distant Learning

Good evening!
I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe as much as possible.
This announcement is for all of my students and parents/guardians.
As you should have received notice from CCHS, we are resuming with our distant learning tomorrow.  Following the new block schedule, tomorrow is Tuesday.  This means period 0, 2, 4 and 6 will meet.
If you are in my 2nd, 4th or 6th period please be prepared to receive an e-mail from me inviting you to join me in a Zoom class session.
2nd period: 9-10:30
4th 10:45-12:15
6th period 1-2:30
The live sessions will not last the entire 90 minutes. I need to make announcements and advise on assignments this week and then stay around for individual questions and answer or help on math.
If you have me 1st or 5th, The same will take place for you on Thursday.
This week I want to make sure that all students and parents are able to connect with me and the class.  I will mainly send e-mails to students after this point and will post main announcements to my website on the schools page.
Remember we are in this together, I am here for you in whatever way that I can. Please also bear with me as I continue to explore best options and platforms for distant learning.
Thank you

Algebra 1 and Geometry students and parents 3/16/20

As of 3/16/20
I sent out an email to all parents and students on Monday, 3/16/20. I do hope that you all have received it.
My main platform of communication is through student e-mails.  I have sent out several e-mails to my students this week concerning their assignments.
Also, I have created a YouTube Channel where I have posted some short videos.
Please go to my channel and subscribe:
As of this week my office hours have been 9am-3pm.  I still respond to e-mails in the evening but at a slower rate.
If for some reason you are not receiving my e-mails, please send me an e-mail:
If time, I will go back and post assignments on this page, but it is best to check your e-mails, please!
Be safe and take care,
