Hello in these unique serious times,

To all the parents and students reading this, I know you have had to be very flexible in figuring out technology and adapting to extended periods of time together. You have also had to give up a lot of stuff socially and I understand that it is unfair and not something you can ever really fully prepare for. I will do my best to give you the best instruction that I can in hopes to finish this school year with as much normalcy as possible. This is will be done with the school homework website, the Canvas page, my youtube channel, and zoom sessions.

With that I wanted to let you know that an outline of what the school day will look like will be posted on the Edlio school homework site as well as the newly created Canvas classes. Most of the assignments and collection of the work will be done through the Canvas class site which most if not all students should be familiar with. Notes will be done with pre-made videos that I create and during the school day we will try to do live sessions to address student questions and to go over additional examples. It is a work in progress and we will try to ease into the flow this first week as I try to learn Canvas and get those videos uploaded. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Students please go to the Canvas site and stay up to date on what is expected. Attached files will outline helpful links for the AP Calculus class about the state of affairs with the AP test and resources to use.

Any questions or comments please feel free to send an email.

Sincerely,

Mr Dien

3/18/20 10:54 Here is a video on how to do hw problem #2 and hopefully it answers the question of the student who sent the email. As always let me know through email and I will try to get to your question. It is also uploaded to the mr dien youtube channel

3/18/20 9:00 Here is a video of how to do example 1 in our cross section notes using the formulas from the first page of the notes. The reason why I worked it out different is because the page one formulas are nice short cuts to do the basic shapes but really you need to look at the area you are given and find a formula and relate it in terms of the reference length "s" . So compare the two videos to see if that helps bridge the two ways to reason out the cross section volume.
