Please outline at least one esssay for Tuesday.<br><br>1) Compare and contrast Athenian (Greek) democracy to the form of democracy that we have in the United States today.  Please state the similarities and differences between our government and their government.<br><br>2) What were some of the legacies left to Western society by the Roman Empire?  Include Political, legal, architectural, and everyday ideas that we use today.<br><br>3) Explain the reasons the English Civil War was fought, the two periods that followed the end of the war and explain how all of these events led to England’s Glorious Revolution and what occurred during this “revolution”.<br><br>4) How did the Enlightenment influence the US Constitution and the US Bill of Rights?<br><br>5) Explain either the unification of Italy or Germany.<br><br>6) Explain the six different social steps in Latin American society.  Make sure you discuss each step in order, what their racial make-up was and the positions they held in Latin American society.<br><br>7) Explain the difference between Communism and Capitalism. Make sure to give examples of each system and also mention who is considered the "father" of each system and what famous publication they wrote.<br><br>8) Explain why Britain and the United States were the first nations to industrialize.  Be sure to explain what the factors of production are and how Britain & the US were both similar and different in their paths to industrialization.<br><br>9) Explain the scramble for Africa.  Include why Europeans wanted Africa and how it was divided.<br><br>10) What is imperialism?  Why does it happen, how does it happen, how is it justified, and what are the various forms of imperialism and methods of control?  Be sure to include at least one example of imperialism.<br><br>
