Please dress appropriately:  washable clothes, dark colors, short sleeves.  Jeans and tee shirts are great.  Closed toe shoes (tennis shoes, loafers, etc.) are mandatory!!!  If you have long hair, please bring a hairband.

The test covers all of chapter 11 of your book AND everything else that we learned in class about genetics.

Your genetics unit study guide is due today!

Complete the Punnett square worksheet you started in class today.  We will review on Wednesday.

Bring in any genetics questions you need answered so you can get help before the exam on Thursday.

Your karyotype project (started in class on Tuesday) is due this Friday, May 11.

Be sure to complete both the karyotype itself and the question page and put your name on both.

 

The additional page of genetics problems that you started in class on Wednesday is also due on Friday.  We will go over them in class so you can check your understanding.

Remember to finish the virtual frog packet we have been working on in class.

It will be collected at the start of class on Monday.

Questions

1. What are the major events that occur during each of the stages in the life cycle of a cell such as a skin cell, i.e., Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokinesis? Assume you are a court reporter that has to explain these stages to your readers with as little jargon as possible.

2. How does cell division differ in prokaryotes and eukaryotes? Clearly, these differences may be difficult for the prokaryotes in the jury to follow unless you show the similarities and differences.

Please complete the remaining questions on the Meiosis POGIL you have been working on in class.

Be sure to have read chapter 11-4 before you return to class on Friday as well.

Complete questions #1-10 and # 25-28 from the Meiosis POGIL that we started in class on Monday.

Finish the click and learn question packet through question #30.

Cell Cycle Test - chapter 10.

I have attached a copy of the articles we read in class on Wednesday.

Those of you who want to reread the articles (and those of you who were absent from class) may do so.

Complete up through question #17 of the mitosis POGIL if you did not do so in class.

We will go over both the cell cycle and mitosis POGILs in class on Wednesday, so make sure you bring both to class.

Take notes on pages 246-249 in your textbook.

Take notes on pages 241-245 in your textbook.

Then, color in the cell cycle diagram you received in class on Friday.

 

Bring these both to class on Monday.

Be sure to complete your chapter 12 study guide!

DNA models are due!

Test on chapter 7-3, membranes, and transport across membranes.

Bring your completed egg project report to class.  Leave the egg itself at home!

Complete Experiment A on the worksheet you received in class today.

Draw a diagram of what you start with and what you end up with to help you figure out what is happening and what will happen to the water level.

 

We will go over this in class on Thursday, but you must make an effort to figure it out on your own first.

Please complete ALL the remaining questions on the Membrane Structure and Function POGIL, Models 3 and 4 AND the extension questions.

 

Write down any questions you might have so you can ask me in class on Wednesday.
