Distance Learning Info

Hi Biology Students and Parents,

You should have received my email notification sent on March 15th that I am using Google Classroom to post all assignments.  Students have prior experience using this platform in our class and possibly in their other classes.  All other correspondence not related to assignments will be via email.

Parents/Guardians --> You can be added to our Google Classroom page to be in the loop.  Your child can invite/add you or let me know if you want me to invite/add you.  I don't want to add you automatically, as you may not want to receive a notification for every assignment.

I am trying my best to have my office hours be 1pm-2pm during the week.  However, I have my 2 younger kids (and sometimes my teenage stepson) at home with me, and my schedule will depend on their schedule and needs.  I apologize for this inconvenience, but thanks for understanding as I try my best to be both Teacher and Mom at the exact same time and space.  :)

You can reach me at my email ([email protected]) and I will respond as quick as I am able.

Best,
--Jenny Ta

Watch the osmosis video and take notes on the following terms below.  It's easiest to divide your paper into 2 columns and write each term down, skipping 5 lines between each term.  You should fit all 10 terms on p. 73 of your Notebook.

  1. Osmosis
  2. Semipermeable membrane
  3. Solute concentration
  4. Solute vs. solvent
  5. Hypertonic, hypotonic, isotonic
  6. IVs in hospitals
  7. Saltwater vs. freshwater fish
  8. Salmon
  9. Plants & root hair cells
  10. Slugs & salt
