English 10 (Period 2) Assignments

Attached is the information for our final exam performance--so exciting! 

Students should complete the RAFT writing assignment with their partners. The document is attached to this post :)

On Thursday 4/20, students should submit the next draft of their research paper via Canvas by 11:59 pm. They know what to do :)

Students should complete their gathering of citations for their research paper. The assignment can be found in the attached research paper packet. 

After finishing up "Born on the 4th of July," students should complete and submit the attached assignment :)

Students should finish reading and annotating the last chapter in The Things They Carried--"The Lives of the Dead." 

Students should read an annotated "Night Life" in TTTC. In addition, if they choose to do so, students can also prepare for tomorrow's timed write :)

Third Quarter Book project is due on March 10th. It seems pretty far away, but it'll come up faster than we think! 

Students should have "The Ghost Soldiers" in The Things They Carried read and annotated by Monday, March 13th. They will have the entire class period on Friday to do this, so most students should not need to read outside of class :)

Students should submit a transcript of their veteran interviews by Thursday, March 9th. 

Students should make sure to have read "Good Form," "Field Trip," and "In the Field" for class on Thursday, March 9th. 

Students should finish reading and annotating the attached interviews for class tomorrow. 

Students should complete the preparatory work for tomorrow's Socratic Seminar on The Things They Carried. 

Students should complete their 20 questions for their veteran interviews and read/annotate "The Man I Killed" in The Things They Carried. 

By Friday, February 17th, students should have the contact information for the veteran they will choose to interview for their research paper. The pertinent information is attached to this post. 

Students should read and annotate "How to Tell a True War Story" in The Things They Carried. Annotations will be collected on this day. 

Tomorrow, students will participate in a timed write that will require an entire essay to be written. Attached is the prep sheet given today--they can outline their essay before writing :)

Students should read and annotate "Enemies" and "Friends" in The Things They Carried by Monday 2/13

By Friday 2/10, students should finish reading and annotating the chapter in The Things They Carried titled "On the Rainy River."

Make sure you finish reading and annotating chapter one in The Things They Carried tonight! 

The revision to our "Reading Articles Synthesis Essay" is due on Monday, January 30th at 11:59 via Canvas :)

We will be working on a synthesis essay about the benefits of reading for the next week--the first draft is due on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:59 pm via Canvas 

Today, we started working on an outline for our upcoming essay assignment. The outline is due tomorrow in class :)

Today, we spent time reviewing and reflecting on the feedback given to us from our Night essays. That reflection is due tomorrow if it wasn't completed in class today. 

Students should complete the attached assignment for class on Monday :)
