Honors Biology (Period 1) Assignments

 Bring your written answers to the 6 possible essay-type questions to class on Monday.  We will be working on them in small groups.

 

Also write down any questions that you have as you are studying for the Final Exam.  Remember that we have covered chapters 1-17 and you will be tested on ALL of them.  Dig out your study guides from the entire year to help.

 

I AM MISSING THE FROG ESSAY AND MAY HOMEWORK CALENDARS FROM A FEW OF YOU.  Please check your binders and give me the materials on Monday if you find them.

Evolution Unit test is today.  It covers chapters 15, 16, 17.

This is our last test before the Final Exam!

Complete the worksheet you received on Monday before coming to class on Wednesday.

 

Remember to dress appropriately for dissection on Thursday!  No sandals!  A tee shirt and long pants work well.

Read chapter 15, sections 1 and 2 and complete the worksheet (both left and right) that you received in class on Thursday.

Finish your karyotype AND the question page if you did not finish it in class on Wednesday.  It is due at the start of class on Thursday.

I attached files of 2 gels from last year.  The gels you ran today did not come out as well for some unknown reason so you can use these gels.

Remember to dress appropriately on Tuesday for our lab - closed toe shoes, long pants, washable clothes.

Complete questions #1-12 on the Translation POGIL you received in class.

Make sure that you have read and understand chapter 12 sections 1, 2, and 3.

Cut out the page of nucleotides you received in class.

List them by base letter in a column under "left side" on the worksheet and list the complementary base under right side. Then, answer questions #1-10 on the left side of the page.

Test on chapter 7-3 (membrane structure, function, membrane transport).

Egg lab project report is due 1/19/17.

Make sure that you have a cover page, hypothesis statement, brief materials and procedure (name the materials that YOU used).

Show me your data table (measurements are in centimeters).

Graph your data.

Include pictures (photographs or hand-drawn)

Write a conclusion as to what you think was happening during the week.

Answer all 7 questions, using COMPLETE SENTENCES.

Staple all papers together.

Finish the Transport POGIL we worked on in class.  Remember to answer the extension questions as well.  We will go over the POGIL in class on Wednesday or Thursday, before your test on Friday.
