Culver City High School Discipline Policies

One of our goals at CCHS is to promote learning in a safe & orderly environment.  Personal safety is a prerequisite for learning.  School safety is everyone’s responsibility.  Any student who has knowledge of potential threats to their own or others’ personal safety is asked to report it to the principal, an assistant principal, or security officer.

To ensure safety, the district & school have established clear student behavior standards & discipline policies.  Students are expected to behave in accordance with federal, state & local laws & rules, district & school policies, & in a manner which respects the rights & safety of others.  Students violating laws &/or rules will be subject to disciplinary consequences.

CCHS’s discipline policies are stated below.  These discipline policies & guidelines for consequences apply any time a student is in school, attending a school sponsored event or traveling directly to/from school.  Listed below are the discipline policies, violations, & recommended consequences.  The following guidelines do not include all possible student offenses.  CCHS believes in progressive discipline.  The school district retains the right to suspend or expel a student or impose other disciplinary action at their discretion, based on the severity of behavior; the facts, circumstances, & nature of a student offense & the student’s disciplinary record.
